Inter Milan's Federico Dimarco has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining a serious knee injury in their last game against Sampdoria.
The 28-year-old midfielder was substituted off during the match, leaving his team-mates frustrated as they looked to continue their campaign with a win.
Inter were trailing 1-0 at half-time, but the home side fought back to level the score before the break.
However, Dimarco's absence meant that his replacement, Alessandro Del Piero,Serie A Stadium had to take over in midfield, and he struggled to hold onto possession throughout the rest of the match.
Despite the setback, Inter remain confident of finishing strongly this season and have already secured their place in the Champions League next season.
It is not yet known how long Dimarco will be out, but it is clear that the injury will be a major blow to the team. The club has also announced that they will be looking for a new striker to replace him on the pitch.
