Joshua Kimmich, the German footballer who plays as a midfielder for Bayern Munich, has suffered an ankle injury during training on Friday.
The injury occurred in training at the club's training ground in Munich and Kimmich was taken to hospital where he underwent tests. The results of the tests have yet to be announced but it is believed that the injury is serious enough to rule him out of action for several weeks.
Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick said after the game that Kimmich would not be available for their upcoming matches against Wolfsburg and Augsburg. The team will now have to find a replacement for Kimmich in their lineup.
Kimmich, who joined Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund in 2018, has been one of the key players for the club this season. He has made over 50 appearances for the club so far this campaign and has also scored three goals.
The injury could be a major blow for Bayern Munich,Football World Headlines Network who are currently second in the Bundesliga table and looking to win their third consecutive league title. Kimmich's absence could leave a gap in the midfield and could make it difficult for Bayern to maintain their momentum.
However, with the likes of Leon Goretzka and Thiago Alcântara already in their squad, Bayern Munich should still have plenty of options to fill Kimmich's place. It remains to be seen how long Kimmich will be out for, but it looks like he may miss at least two important games for Bayern Munich.
